Extracurricular Music
Music is really important to us at Oughtibridge and we believe every child should have the right to experience performing.
Our school choir rehearses after school on a Monday. The choir children also have the very exciting opportunity to sing at the Young Voices Concert at the Sheffield Arena. All pupils in Year 3, also have the wonderful opportunity to learn to play the violin.
We also have peripatetic music teachers who come into school each week, offering lessons in guitar, violin and piano. Rocksteady music teachers give children the opportunity to form and make music as part of a ‘rockband.’
We believe there are many benefits to learning to play an instrument. It can help children develop patience and develop memory skills. It can also improve academic results, physical development, develop resilience and increase children’s self-esteem.
If you would like more information about choir or music lessons for your child, please contact us at school.
